As a software engineer on our mobile team, Mary Ann collaborates with colleagues to create, maintain, and improve the Milliman HealthIO app. With her sharp eye for detail, Mary Ann has a talent for troubleshooting and perfecting computer code.

Working on our product has been gratifying for Mary Ann, who appreciates the genuine sense of care that guides our technology. Plans to add, remove, or change features are always rooted in a desire to make health and life better for our members. She appreciates the team’s shared sense of purpose to produce a high-quality application that our own families and loved ones could use.

Prior to joining Milliman HealthIO, Mary Ann was a systems analyst for Trusted Media Brands, Inc. and Komatsu Mining Corp. She has also held positions in software engineering and development. 

Mary Ann earned her BA in English from Far Eastern University and a certificate in web development and design from Informatics College (both in the Philippines). Additionally, she graduated with an Associates in Applied Science, Software Development from Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Outside of work, Mary Ann can often be found in the kitchen, cooking meals and sharing them with friends and family. She enjoys traveling and exploring new places. She is also energized by getting involved in charitable work and giving back to her community.

Tyler Gaddis

In his role as a data engineer, Tyler is responsible for integrating HealthIO’s multiple data sources, and designing and building in-house analytics products that rely on them. Our driven, collaborative approach to analytics and software development, paired with Milliman’s world-class analytics, created an opportunity to improve healthcare that he couldn’t pass up.

Prior to joining the company, Tyler worked on a variety of projects, including the implementation of new electronic health record software at QuadMed.

Tyler holds an MS in Health Care Informatics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned his BA in Physical and Biological Anthropology and Scandinavian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Tyler is also a Master Brewer, having completed the Master Brewers Program at the University of California-Davis. He deeply appreciates Norwegian culture, language, and literature, having additionally studied at the Høgskolen i Telemark during his undergraduate years.

Outside of work, Tyler loves spending time in the kitchen, creating meals for his wife and two daughters. A fan of all four seasons, he enjoys camping, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing, although in the summer, you can also find him hanging out in a hammock, reading a good book.

Regional Director

As our regional director, Kathryn Cook brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience to Milliman HealthIO, helping our customers solve their toughest challenges. A former clinician, she has a heart for both patients and providers. With her firsthand knowledge of the healthcare industry, Kathryn enjoys presenting creative solutions that can improve patient outcomes and reduce financial risk. She is especially pleased to be working with our team, given our goal to move from the “break-fix” model of healthcare to something more preventive and sustainable.

In addition to her role at Milliman HealthIO, Kathryn is an adjunct professor teaching courses in both graduate and doctoral programs. She has held previous positions in business development with Sound Physicians, the Orthopedic and Sports Therapy Institute, and Kindred Healthcare. Kathryn got her start with Johnson & Johnson as a cardiovascular specialty representative.

Kathryn’s education began at the California College for the Health Sciences, where she graduated with an A.S. in Respiratory Care. She then earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business and Management from Cardinal Stritch University. Additionally, Kathryn holds a Doctorate in Health Science with a focus on population health from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences.

When Kathryn isn’t working, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, and enjoying the great outdoors. She counts cooking and entertaining among her favorite activities. During her downtime, you might also find her unwinding with a good book and a glass of Pinot Noir.

Denise is a highly organized, solution-driven business analyst. With more than 30 years of experience delivering custom software and IoT products, Denise is an expert at navigating teams through complex technical projects. Her ability to scope, plan, prioritize, and communicate ensures that every step of our platform’s development exceeds expectation. Denise was delighted to discover kindred spirits at Milliman HealthIO, sharing her passion for building a quality product that is serving a real need in the healthcare marketplace. 

Prior to Milliman HealthIO, Denise held software development and project management roles at Assurant Health, Direct Supply, and Rexnord. She spent the bulk of her career with Kubin-Nicholson Corporation, ultimately serving as MIS Director and managing the infrastructure, software systems, and helpdesk projects and resources for IT and communications.

Denise graduated with her degree in Business Data Processing and Information Technology from Milwaukee Area Technical College. She is an Advanced Certified ScrumMaster and holds a PMC Level 1 certification from the Pragmatic Institute.

When she’s not at work, Denise loves to travel and explore new places. At home, she enjoys serving as the sous chef to her better half, and creating delicious meals for their extended family. She’s a dedicated Wisconsin fan, cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. But more than anything, Denise is motivated by her deep faith. She practices yoga with a Christian approach and is active in her church, leading a women’s Bible study group.

In her role as the senior marketing manager, Sara is responsible for developing the strategy and creation of materials to support the buyer’s journey. From informative articles to videos and more, she helps prospects understand where the Milliman HealthIO solution fits in the crowded landscape of digital health. She enjoys educating buyers and sharing the benefits of reduced cost and better health that result from implementing our program.

Sara was a natural fit for our team, in part because she enjoys demystifying complex experiences. Our “back to basics” approach of measuring health vitals resonated with her own belief that small steps can lead to big change.

Sara’s career began more than 20 years ago in a public relations firm serving the futures and derivatives industry. Her work grew to include consumer brands and nonprofit clients as well. She spent several years inside a healthcare technology start up, directing the marketing efforts around a patient engagement program for those with chronic disease. Additionally, Sara has worked as a freelance marketer and writer with a special focus on healthcare, education, and faith-based outreach.

Sara earned her BA in English from Western Illinois University, with a minor in Creative Writing. She holds multiple HubSpot Academy certifications, including those in content marketing, email marketing, and social media.

When she isn’t busy churning out helpful content, Sara loves to drag her family out on hikes around their home in West Michigan. She also enjoys puttering around in her garden and coaxing her husband to cook for her.

In his role at Milliman HealthIO, Dave leads a technology team of product managers, designers, analysts, engineers, and data scientists in building our healthcare platform. His deep experience in new product development, software engineering, mobile app design/development, IoT, data analytics, UX, marketing and sales gives Dave the unique ability to understand customer needs and develop the digital solutions that delight our customers and drive business forward.

Joining the HealthIO team was an exciting opportunity for Dave, who is passionate about creating technology that retains an authentic human touch. Collaborating with our diverse, innovation-oriented team gives him energy as we all work together to improve the state of healthcare.

In addition to his work at Milliman HealthIO, Dave serves on the Computer Engineering Industry Advisory Council at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, as well as the Customer Experience Industry Advisory Council at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

He has previously held leadership roles in healthcare, financial services, insurance and industrial manufacturing companies.

Dave earned his BS in Computer Engineering and his Master’s in Engineering Management, both from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He holds several certifications, including Artificial Intelligence in Health Care (through MIT Sloan School of Management) and Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance.

During his downtime, Dave enjoys golfing and playing volleyball, among other outdoor activities. During college football season, you can usually find him parked in front of a TV. And always, he treasures his time with family and friends who inspire his work to make world-class technology for the benefit of others.

As Global Director – Market Development Luke is responsible for building a pipeline of opportunities across all geographies and distribution channels. He also coaches our sales team, developing processes and supporting our collaborative culture. Luke is energized by our goal to use data to curb rising healthcare costs. He especially appreciates the power of our product to engage people outside of the physician’s office, during the time they spend away from the healthcare system. Reaching those who suffer from chronic illness or who do not have easy access to healthcare drives Luke’s determination to create lasting, satisfied customers.

Luke began his career with Aetna over twenty years ago, where he first served as an account executive. He then held sales roles with increasing responsibility at Assurant Employee Benefits (now Sun Life Financial), Lincoln Financial Group, Voya Financial, and Principal Financial Group. Most recently, Luke was Senior Vice President of Sales at Aetna, covering their northwest and mountain territory.

Luke earned his BA in English from the University of Washington, where he also volunteers for the Alumni Association. He is an executive board member of the American Lung Association (Washington local office).

Luke is a family man who loves to get outside and enjoy the beauty of Seattle, where he is based. He, his wife, and their two children enjoy paddleboarding, fishing, mountain biking, and skiing. With their love for University of Washington football, the Knutsons are known for hosting great tailgate parties in their fully renovated 1969 Airstream.

As Chief Operations Officer, Randy serves a dual role as a member of the executive management team in providing strategic guidance in the operations of the business and in ensuring that our clients receive superior service. Joining Milliman HealthIO was a career change for Randy, but one that he welcomed with open arms. The Milliman HealthIO solution affects real people and helps them take control of their own health. Working with Milliman HealthIO presented Randy with an opportunity to make a real difference, one life at a time.

Before joining Milliman HealthIO and focusing on operations and client services, Randy served as legal counsel in a variety of positions over the past 30 years, ending as global general counsel. He has extensive experience in customer-facing business transactions, contract negotiation and solutions, intellectual property issues, and regulatory and compliance concerns.

Prior to joining Milliman HealthIO, Randy worked for Technicolor (Connected Home), Plexus, and UnitedHealthcare. His in-depth knowledge of the digital health space, electronic manufacturing, and health insurance has contributed to the excellence of our offerings.

Among his many professional accomplishments, Randy has served as a chairperson and board member of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. He also holds a Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.

Randy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He then went on to graduate with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

While Randy loves his job, he also values the health benefits that come with work/life balance. In his downtime, Randy enjoys camping, traveling, woodworking and spending time with his family.

For Sanjay, HealthIO isn’t just business—it’s personal. As the founder of HealthIO, he began the company to solve a problem many families face: how to care for aging relatives at a distance? With his own parents an ocean away, Sanjay saw that technology could help bridge the gap.

In May 2020, HealthIO was acquired by Milliman—the gold standard in actuarial consulting for healthcare and insurance industries. By pairing HealthIO’s innovative technology with Milliman’s extensive data and analytics capabilities, clients are discovering how to help members of their population achieve better health while managing their organization’s financial risk.

As managing director of Milliman HealthIO, Sanjay is a tireless leader inspiring all teams to create a truly exceptional experience for our clients and program members—one that shifts “sick care” to true healthcare.

Over the course of his career, Sanjay has been instrumental in developing and growing consulting services within the healthcare and insurance space. Clients across North America, Europe, and APAC have all benefited from his creativity in the effective use of technology to transform business.

Sanjay earned his Master’s in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, with an emphasis in Artificial Intelligence. He completed his MBA with a specialization in Marketing/Marketing Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Sanjay is active in his local community. He serves as a member of the Board of Advisors for the Milwaukee School of Engineering: School of Nursing. Additionally, he is the former Milwaukee Chapter Director of Startup Grind, an event series connecting local entrepreneurs.

When Sanjay isn’t busy trying to solve the complex problems within healthcare, you can find him on the golf course perfecting his short game. A consummate family man, he and his wife are the proud parents of two accomplished daughters.
